Not all dry-looking skin is actually dry.
There is a big difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin — and treating them the same way is a mistake.
Dry skin:
- lacks oil
- feels rough and flaky
- needs nourishing oils and creams
Dehydrated skin:
- lacks water
- feels tight but can still be oily
- looks dull and tired
You can have oily AND dehydrated skin at the same time.
Why this matters:
If you use heavy creams on dehydrated skin:
- they sit on top
- they don’t absorb
- skin still feels dry
What to do instead:
- Start with hydration (water-based products)
- Then apply oil or cream to lock it in
This simple change transforms how your skin looks and feels.
