Not all dry-looking skin is actually dry.

There is a big difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin — and treating them the same way is a mistake.

Dry skin:

  • lacks oil
  • feels rough and flaky
  • needs nourishing oils and creams

Dehydrated skin:

  • lacks water
  • feels tight but can still be oily
  • looks dull and tired

You can have oily AND dehydrated skin at the same time.

Why this matters:

If you use heavy creams on dehydrated skin:

  • they sit on top
  • they don’t absorb
  • skin still feels dry

What to do instead:

  1. Start with hydration (water-based products)
  2. Then apply oil or cream to lock it in

This simple change transforms how your skin looks and feels.
